OUR WORKSHOP

The first thing you will notice, upon entering the workshop, is the high ceiling. The three windows reach up to 5,5 meters, and let the Northern Lights enter the studio. A tropical Alocasia grows like it is at home.

The actual floorplan is eight spaces around a central, open space; workbenches, lacquertable, cupboards for dyes and resins, a bureau and a small kitchen all found their place's.

Recent repairs discovered a centennial waterwell under the studiofloor.

The building was erected in 1874, functioning as a school. As early as 1880 it was modified to its actual shape, with two storeys. For more than 60 years it is property of the city of Amsterdam; many artisans (architects, furniture makers) and 7 art painters have their studio in the building.

In the vicinity of Dam square, you will find the workshop in the Jordaan quarter, at the lommerrijke Lauriergracht

From Schiphol Amsterdam airport it is a 20 min. taxidrive to the atelier, but a trainservice brings you in the same time to the central Station.

You can reach us by tram 13 or 17, starting at Central Station, getting off at Westermarkt. Take Prinsengracht on your left, first bridge to the right, and Lauriergracht is the first canal on your right side.

By car you take the A10 ring, leaving it at the Centrum sign. You can park on the canal, but do not forget to buy a parking ticket (which we will refund, off course)
